Mom's Morning Out

MUMC's Mother's Morning Out Ministry is a program serving children who have turned one year old by Sept. 1st of the school year. It operates Mondays through Fridays, 9:00am-12:00pm, during the school year. Our goal is to help toddlers feel happy and secure at church and to feel good about themselves. We provide opportunities for their spiritual, social, and developmental growth through play activities in a Christian environment. We hope that our ministry to these children will be a blessing to their families.

Mother's Morning Out Sample Schedule

 

8:50-9:15     Arrival
9:15-9:45     Play Time in the centers
9:45-10:00     Circle Time
10:00     Snack Time
10:30     Play Time (outdoors or indoors)
11:00     Snack Time
11:30     Play Time in the centers or arts and crafts
11:45-Noon     Pick-up


Dramatic Play - rattles; pretend play; dolls; stuffed animals; puppets; dress-up
Sensory/Art - coloring, play dough, fingerpainting; tactile exploration with textures; filling/dumping
Curiosity - peek-a-boo; mirror play; smells; sorting; block play
Music - songs; musical instruments
Literacy - Story time; books; teacher talk (vocabulary); rhymes; fingerplays
Movement - pat-a-cake; dump and load; activity gym; reaching/grasping; outdoor play/walks

Each class has eight students and two teachers. The Mother's Morning Out teachers have numerous years of experience. Most of the teachers have been with MUMC MMO for at least five years. Each one is dedicated to the well-being of the children.

Registration Information

To register for the 2013-2014 MUMC MMO school year, applicants should either bring the completed form, along with the registration fee to the MMO office on February 12th, 2013 or mail it to the MMO office with a postmark of February 12th or later.
